You are a gifted writer. Thanks for sharing the diary posts. When Queens Ride By is one of my favorite short stories. Hope you will write some more.

Your writing is wonderful. In your description, though, please note that the original was not published in 1888. Agnes Turnbull was born in 1888, and the story was published in the 1930s about a 1920s farm. :)

How to read the story

Thank you for visiting here. You may wish to read the story in chronological order in order to understand Jennie's journey back to the heart of her home and family.

The posts will not be daily as Jennie did not have time to write in her diary daily. She was a busy farm wife and mother and 'oft times found a few minutes here and there to record her thoughts. Also, don't be surprised to find grammatical errors, Jennie was not an educated woman and grammar and punctuation is slack here in keeping with the story line and her personality. The posts will follow the rhythm of the seasons of New England life.
